Planning a stopover or layover in Brisbane? Perhaps you have an early flight and don’t want to rush to start your day. Whatever your reason, a night at a hotel near Brisbane Airport is a great way to start your trip or refresh mid-journey.

As Australia’s third-largest airport, and a major hub airport for Qantas and Virgin Australia, this modern airport is a great starting place for you trip to Australia.

But where to stay near Brisbane Airport?

I’ve rounded up the best options in this handy post, including information about where to sleep in Brisbane Airport!

What you need to know about Brisbane Airport

Seven things to make your stopover in Brisbane easier:

  • Brisbane Airport is open 24-hours.
  • They have free WiFi!
  • Most stores at Brisbane Airport shut overnight, but there are some 24-hour dining options in both the International and Domestic Terminals.
  • There are showers at Brisbane Airport! Check their website for all locations.
  • Passengers who do not have lounge access can buy a pass to relax and shower. None of the lounges has sleeping facilities.
  • Have some time between flights? It’s simple to get from Brisbane Airport to the city and beyond! The most cost efficient way to travel to Brisbane’s CBD is by AirTrain. It takes just 20 minutes by train to get from the city to airport.
  • Brisbane is less than one-hour express Airtrain ride from the Gold Coast Airport, also known as Coolangatta Airport, which is the primary hub for Jetstar – Australia’s leading low-cost airline.

Can I sleep at Brisbane International Airport?

Brisbane Airport is a 24-hour airport and you can sleep landside. I haven’t slept in the terminal overnight, only walked around, but found that the terminal gets particularly cold and that music plays all-night. Be sure to bring a warm jacket, such as the North Face tri-climate, and earplugs!

There are plenty of powerpoints where you can charge your devices throughout the airport.

Are there showers at Brisbane Airport?

You can freshen up with a shower at Brisbane Airport! Both the International and Domestic terminals have free shower facilities you can use to freshen up between flights. Showers are free of charge. Find their locations here.

You will need to bring your own towel and toiletries. I recommend travelling with an eco-friendly microfibre towel, though most lounges will provide you with a complimentary towel and toiletries.

UPGRADE YOUR NEXT TRIP: Whether you want to upgrade your layover or are a frequent traveller, consider purchasing a lounge membership pass such as Priority Pass. With a Priority Pass have access to over 1,300 airport lounges around the world for a low rate. Best of all, you can buy a one-off pass or one to use all around the world! Check out the Priority Pass web site for the most up-to-date information.

Are there in-terminal hotels at Brisbane International Airport?

At the time of writing, there is no in-terminal hotel, but there are a number of hotels directly outside the terminal.

Editors note: We will be adding more hotels to this round-up soon!
