The Best Resources for Travellers

Full list coming soon! In the meantime, check out my carry-on packing essentials.

After years of full-time travel, and many more of planning the perfect weekenders and week-long getaways, I like to think I’ve tried a lot of things; travel websites, gear, and more. From all of these trials, I think I’ve found some great gear, most of this I use of every trip.

This is a collection of the best travel resources when it comes to transportation, accommodation, gear, and more.

All of these items have been tried and tested by me on my travels and are what I’d recommend to my family and friends.

I hope these items help make your travels a little bit easier too!

Travel photography and videography

Nikon D750

I call it my chunky monkey and for good reason, this big camera is fantastic but not the most discreet. Now that I’m travelling more with my carry-on only, I really need to source a smaller alternative.

GoPro Hero 8

The newest GoPro (the HERO8) is a great action camera that is also incredibly portable and discreet – perfect for travelling! The HyperSmooth video stabilization and Time Warp Video mean anyone can take pro-level video on their travels. I use mine for my interior shots when I’m onboard, underwater footage and adventure sports!

SanDisk Memory Cards

SanDisk is the only brand I use and trust. I’ve tried other brands, but the performance isn’t right or I manage to kill them after only a year. I travel with a bunch of these varying in size from 32GB all the way to over 200GB.

From experience though – it’s better to have several small SD cards. It will force you to clean them more often. I am terrible at keeping all my photos and videos organised.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

I edit all my photos using Lightroom. Still a tool I’m learning how to use, but it can save a great shot that is too dark or too light.

Final Cut Pro X

What I edit all my videos in.

For those just starting out, iMovie is a great free alternative!
